The final date of Lamb's short UK tour was the best I've seen them play yet :)
I saw them play at The Forum, London the previous week but, unfortunately, was fairly near the back so didn't get a very good view. This time however, I was right at the front :) Funnily enough, at The Forum they came onstage about 8:30 and were finished by 10:00 - this time they didn't start 'til 9:45!!
Some highlights were:
Andy stage-diving into the audience, then after admitting that if he hadn't done it there and then he would have bottled out...
A beautiful, minimal version of
"I Cry".
The beginning of
"Softly" where Jon's bass stopped working and Lu had to beckon to a roadie to come and fix it sharpish!!!!
The full set list was:
"What Sound"
"Heaven"
"Gold"
"Sweet"
"Little Things"
"I Cry"
"Sweetheart"
"Softly"
"Small"
"Gabriel"
"One"
"Fly"
Then they said goodnight and left. Time for the obligatory scream for an encore - we got it of course... Unusually it was the 'Lounge' version of
"B Line", followed by (they'd have been murdered if they hadn't played it)
"Gorecki". Then they left again... They got called back for one final song
"Cotton Wool" - dedicated to everyone who'd been with them since the beginning :)
HUGE thanks to Vickie Hallam for the photos. Also, cheers to the Swindon massive for getting me back home again (and I thought I was gonna be on my own ;)
